Frozen S'Mores? A contradiction of words right? Don't you need fire to melt the marshmallows? How can this be frozen? Well Chef Dominique Ansel owner of Dominique Ansel Bakery in New York City has gotten it all figured out and it's delicious!
Chef Dominique is known as the creator of the cronut. What is a cronut you ask? A crount is a perfect marriage between a croissant and a donut that is magically delicious. It is also the reason I ventured around SoHo to find this bakery. These conuts sell out before they even open. I was told that you have to place your order online if you want to get your hands on one of the cronuts.
I could not let my exploration go to waist, so when I saw frozen s'more on the menu I was intrigued as to how this was suppose to happen. A frozen s'more? I was really wracking my brain as to how this was possible while I waited. The marshmallow block was nicely bruleed on the outside. I took a bite to find a nice creamy custard surrounded coated with a chocolate shell and enclosed by the bruleed marshmallow. This blew my mind...a frozen s'more! This was worth it! If you are ever in New Your City make your way over to Soho to taste of of the sweet treats at Dominique Ansel's Bakery.
